Suzuka International Racing Course is one of the most famous and technically demanding race circuits in the world, located in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Opened in 1962 and originally built as a Honda test circuit, Suzuka is globally renowned for its unique figure-of-eight layout, the only one of its kind currently on the Formula 1 calendar. The 5.807 km (3.608 miles) circuit features 18 corners and some of the most iconic sequences in motorsport including the Esses, Degner Curves, Hairpin, Spoon Curve, 130R, and the Casio Triangle chicane. The layout demands ultimate precision, car balance and driver confidence at every level. Suzuka is the long time home of the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, as well as hosting Super GT, Super Formula, motorcycle racing, endurance events, manufacturer testing and public car and motorcycle track days through approved Japanese organisers.
