About Okayama Circuit

Okayama International Circuit is a major Japanese motorsport venue located near Mimasaka in Okayama Prefecture. Originally known as TI Circuit Aida when it opened in 1990, the circuit gained international recognition after hosting the Formula 1 Pacific Grand Prix in 1994 and 1995. It was later renamed to Okayama International Circuit. The current 3.703 km layout features 13 corners and is known for its technical, rhythm based design with frequent elevation changes, heavy braking zones and fast direction changes. The circuit demands precision rather than outright top speed, making it a favourite for driver development and competitive racing. Okayama hosts top level Japanese motorsport including Super GT, Super Formula, international endurance racing, touring cars, motorcycle events and a full calendar of public car and motorcycle track days. It is also a popular testing venue for manufacturers and race teams. With forest surroundings, elevation changes and close spectator access, Okayama International Circuit is a highly photogenic venue for both professional racing and track day photography.
