About Circuit Zolder

Circuit Zolder is one of Belgium’s most famous and technically demanding race circuits, located in Heusden-Zolder, Limburg, Belgium. Opened in 1963, the circuit rose to international prominence as a former host of the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix and remains one of the most important motorsport venues in the Benelux region. The modern 4.011 km (2.492 miles) layout features 10 corners and is characterised by its tight chicanes, heavy braking zones, short straights and constant rhythm changes. Zolder is a true driver’s circuit that rewards precision and punishes mistakes, with very little room to relax. Iconic sections include the Jochen Rindt Chicane, Bolderberg Turn, Villeneuve Chicane and the fast first sector sweepers. Today, Circuit Zolder hosts DTM (historically), Belcar Endurance Championship, FIA WTCR (touring cars), GT racing, historic motorsport, manufacturer testing and a busy calendar of public car and motorcycle track days. With its raw layout, close barriers and intense racing atmosphere, Zolder is also a highly respected circuit for motorsport photographers seeking close-quarters action.
